Above and Beyond Scholarship
Recognizing the need for more library media teachers who have
advanced degrees, or who are National Board Certified, the Above and Beyond
Scholarship has been established by Follett Library Resources
to encourage practicing library media teachers to pursue either a Master’s
or Doctorate degree in librarianship or in a related field, or who is
pursuing National Board Certification as a library media teacher. The
scholarship is sponsored by Follett Library Resources in the amount of
$1,000. The scholarship will be awarded to a professional member of CSLA
who is enrolled in an advanced degree program, or who is currently working
toward National Board Certification as a library media teacher. Click

DEMCO/Betty Barkema School Library Improvement Grant
The purpose of the DEMCO/Betty Barkema School Library
Improvement Grant is to provide library furniture, supplies, and promotional
materials necessary to create a stimulating learning environment. The
amount of the grant is $5,000. Applicants must be CSLA members. It is
the intent of the California School Library Association and DEMCO, Inc.,
the grant sponsor, that this grant be used to move a substandard library
toward excellence. Click

Mook & Blanchard Honorary Scholarship
This $1,000.00 scholarship is to assist a school library paraprofessional in obtaining the preparation needed to qualify and serve as a Teacher Librarian. Mrs. Nelson’s Library Services, in collaboration with CSLA, has established the Mook & Blanchard Honorary Scholarship. They passionately promote building collections of reading materials in school libraries so that students could discover themselves through the pleasure of reading. In memory of Lynn, Jerry, and John, and recognizing the need for credentialed library teachers in California, Mrs. Nelson’s Library Services has established an educational scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. Leadership for Diversity Scholarship
Recognizing the need for library media teachers who reflect the diversity
of California's multicultural, multilingual population, the California
School Library Association (CSLA) has established a Leadership for Diversity
Scholarship. One award of $1,500 will be given to an individual enrolled
in a college or university library media teacher credential program. Click

Northern Section Scholarships
Jewel Gardiner Memorial Scholarship
The Northern Section of CSLA awards a $1000 scholarship twice a year to
an outstanding student enrolled in a LMT program. Applications must be
postmarked by Aug. 1 for the fall term, Nov. 1 for the spring term. Donations

Southern Section Scholarships
Southern Section Library Media Teacher Scholarship
Recognizing that there is a need for professional school library media
teachers, the California School Library Association-Southern Section offers
scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. The purpose is to assist those
persons seeking preparation leading toward a degree or credential which
will qualify the individual to work as a professional in the library media

Southern Section Paraprofessional Scholarship
CSLA Southern Section recognizes the need for trained and qualified library
technicians in Southern California. Therefore the Southern Section of
CSLA has established an educational scholarship in the amount of $500
for library paraprofessionals. The purpose is to assist school library
paraprofessionals in completing a school library technician/paraprofessional
certificate program or obtaining a teaching credential with the ultimate
