Yvette Cabrera
, columnist for the Orange County Register, has some very sympathetic comments to make about school libraries in California, starting and ending with words from Richard K. Moore. For the entire column, click here.
State Superintendent Jack O'Connell kicked off his Cal Grant Campaign at the International Studies Academy High School Library in San Francisco. Librarian Anna Koval posted these pictures of the event.
And then over in Marin County, on the educational TV channel, Jane Ritter,Tom Kaun, Dee Kauer and Lori Deibel talk about school libraries and information literacy for 21st century learning.

Awards and Scholarship Applications Now Posted
Each year CSLA grants six awards and eight scholarships to deserving members in a range of areas. Some nominations may be made by the applicants themselves and others by their colleagues. Be sure to check out the newest award, a $1,000 grant from World Book for outstanding projects that emphasize diversity in any curricular area. Click here for more information.
